Candace M. Kent is the program manager at the Center for Advancing Opportunity (CAO).

Her day-to-day responsibilities include the management and support of special projects related to expanding the CAO brand and narrative, serve as a liaison to program partners and develop school-to-career programs for students attending Historically Black Colleges University’s (HBCUs). Previously, Candace worked as a Customer Relationship Manager at Nordstrom, where she identified and cultivated exclusive experiences for the company’s best customers. Her background in the fashion, communications and Public Relations industries spans across notable brands such as Levi Strauss & Co., Modern Luxury and URBN.  Candace holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington and a Masters of Professionals Studies from Georgetown University. When not working, she can be found spending time with her adorable niece, tutoring at her church or eating a good meal at one of her favorite Virginia restaurants.
